Baby Announcement

My dear neighbor just had her baby. I had offered to make her announcements. I found this design online, I wish that I could remember who's it was. If you've seen this design before please let me know so that I could give credit to her great work.

Here are the measurements:
Choc Chip: 3 1/4 x 5
2nd piece: 2 1/8 x 2 1/4
Barely Banana: 2 1/2 x 4 3/4
Bashful Blue: 2 x 2 1/8
More Mustard: 4 3/4 x 10
Score: 2 1/2, 5, 7 1/2,

**TIP** When scoring I scored at 2 1/2 then folded the paper and then lined where I just scored and then scored again at 2 1/2, then one more time.

Here's the finished project. I hope you like it. I will post more pictures once I've finished decorating the inside.

Sophia broke her ankle

How Sophia broke her ankle. We were taking pictures last Thursday with some of our dearest friends who are moving to MO. Sophia and 2 of her other cousins had ran away from us to go and play. When we were calling them back for more pictures Sophia fell. She cried of course but we thought it was because she knew that she was being defiant (not really hurt). She asked to be carried the rest of the day. The next day if she wanted to get anywhere fast she crawled. Her pedi doctor was closed for fiesta. By the afternoon she was walking fine and hadn't even complained about it. On Sunday I noticed that she was favoring her other leg more and thought I need to take her in. Mon & Tues her doc was only open half day and was booked already. Side Note: his daughter is getting married and his office is going to be closed for the rest of the week. So I took her to Texas Med Clinic and that's when we found out that she broke her ankle. Such a sad story for such a sweet girl. Who would have thought a normal fall at a park could do so much harm. Anyway Sophia is doing fine and Mommy & Daddy are waiting on her hand and foot.

Here are a few pictures.

I'm sure our little half pint will be back on her feet real soon. We'll keep you updated.

Quiet Playtime

You know as a parent you want to encourage your child to play on their own. But when they are too quite you begin to wonder. Well this afternoon Sophia was awfully quite, here's what she was up to...

putting on chapstick! She wanted to make sure that she didn't miss her lips, so she got her cheeks too. ; ) Gotta love kids!

Talking Back Consequences!

Well we have had a whirl wind of a week and it's only Wednesday! Sophia is about to be 3yrs old on Feb 2nd and we've had so much talking back it's frustrating.

We have house rules that we ALL must follow and Sophia wasn't taking them seriously. We told her that the house was not happy with the way that she was talking back and not using nice words to talk to mommy and daddy so the house has taken away her toys until she learns to use her words.

While my husband/Mike was giving Sophia a bath I got to work and moved all of her toys out of her room and closet. I only left her bookshelf of books. Mike was telling Sophia a story in the bath (like normal) about a little girl who was not using her words and her house was not happy about it and put her toys away. You should have seen her face when she got out of the bath and found her room empty!

Her first question was how could the house take all of my toys and Mommy how do I get my stuff back? I said that the house has been listening to her talk to mommy and daddy and was not very happy, so he decided to put her toys away until she used better words to talk to mommy and daddy.

We shall see how this turns out. I'll keep you posted!
Signed a sad/disappointed Mommy and Daddy.

Birthday Gift Box

I found a super cute monthly birthday box on Inking Idaho's blog. Here is my version of the box.

I followed almost all of Becky's instructions. Here are the directions to make this Birthday Box:

1. I started with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock cut to 8 1/2" x 9".
2. Score the long side at 3 3/4" and 5 1/4".
3. Score the short side at 1 1/2" and 7 1/2". Fold on the score lines shape into a box.
4. Before assembling, I cut the opening so you can see the contents. I measured in about a 1/2" on each side and down about 1" from the top. I used my paper cutter to cut out that little section. Assemble the box with Sticky Strip.

**I am working on the lid measurements. It was just a bit off, so I'm working out the kinks.**
Stay Tuned...

We hope that you have a wonderful time at your new school Georgia and make wonderful friends!

New Blog -- New Start

I decided to create a new blog for a new beginning! We had our Demo Mtg on Monday and we all realized that we are not doing such a good job keeping up with our blogs. So to make us accountable here's our solution:

We are going to post every Monday and comment on what we have accomplished.
